The client identified a disconnect in the trip-planning experience: social media inspires but doesn't let you book, and booking platforms let you book but don't inspire. Our team built Tripsst to close that gap, developing a hybrid platform where users browse content from travelers and creators — reviews, photos, videos — while also being able to directly book hotels, excursions, and experience packages posted by tourism providers. The biggest challenge was designing two experiences that coexisted frictionlessly within the same product: a social, visual, discovery-driven one, and a functional, transactional, booking-driven one, similar to platforms like Booking or Airbnb but powered by community content. The result was a platform that gave the client a dual business model — monetization through bookings and through content promotion — all in one product.
