What we built

The problem Mixum solves isn't new — tools for playing live sequences already existed. But we noticed they all shared the same flaw: they were complex, unintuitive, and many musicians didn't even know how to use them properly, ending up avoiding them or using them wrong. Our team built Mixum around the opposite priority: simplicity without sacrificing functionality. Every instrument in the song — out of the 20 or 25 a studio production can have — is an independent track that turns on or off with a single tap, no complicated menus, no technical setup. If the musician plays that instrument live, they mute the track; if they don't have it, they leave it playing, and the audience hears the full song. The internal click that keeps the band in sync and the song's structural guide work the same way: present, useful, but frictionless for a musician who just wants to play, not fight with software. The result is a tool any band member can learn in minutes, not weeks — the difference between a solution that exists on paper and one the band actually uses, night after night, on stage.
